Did you know that the month of July is National Hot Dog Month? I didn't till here recently! I guess that is why we see so many sells on hot dogs this month!
Americans are expected to eat 7 billion hot dogs this summer, according to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council. That is a lot of hot dogs! Also, sausage consumption is on the rise with sells reaching $2 billion last year!
I like hot dogs but I am personally not big on them. My kids on the other hand love them! Plus, they are quick and easy to fix! I personally like sausage dogs! There is tons of different ways to fix your hot dog or sausage dog! I love mine with chili, cheese, and onions! Just thinking of it makes my mouth water!
Another favorite around here is if you have leftover hot dogs add them to your baked beans for beanie weenies!
July's hot dog celebrations continue as July 28th is dubbed National Chili Dog Day! I guess I am in luck with this one as my favorite is a Chili Dog! So, I will be ahead on my celebrating!
