September 24th is considered Worldwide Day of Play, which is the centerpiece of Nickelodeon's The Big Help- a program to empower kids and families to make healthy lifestyle choices every day. Up till recently I didn't do much outdoors as I was pregnant with our 7th child. But over the past few years I have gotten more active and have focused on trying to live a more healthier lifestyle and keep the kids active. I tried to stay as active as possible when I was pregnant.
Typically, our activities include going to the park and walking the huge track. Some of our family favorite activities to do outside are…
Volleyball- We all love this game and we play it alot at church fellowships or anytime we can. The kids love it and since we have been practicing with them more on our own volleyball court they have gotten better. Plus, it built up their confidence. What better way to burn calories running around!
Freeze Tag- My kids love playing freeze tag and they love it even better when we play it with them. With us having a huge yard really helps.
Hide and Seek- Who doesn't love a good game of hide and seek? We got tons of trees and covered area which makes this game tons of fun!
German Spotlight- This is a new one our kids introduced us to it. It is similar to hide and seek except it is done at night! Your base is a jail so once you capture a few if one of the kids hasn't been can go over to the base and yell Jail break! They all are back loose. The kids love it! Great when you have tons of kids!
