As you all know I have a crafty side. I recently got the opportunity to review Kathy Davis's book Scatter Joy and her fabric line.
Her book is takes you behind the scenes to discover how Kathy started a business in the corner of her bedroom and rose to become one of the best selling designers in the country. In Scatter Joy, Kathy inspires and encourages you to find what feeds your soul, and then pursue it with all your heart. You'll find real life stories of "joy scatterers" and warm, wise counsel on finding joy and happiness – even when things look bleak. Throughout its chapters, Scatter Joy is filled with colorful art, inspiring quotations, and Kathy's story of how she created the life she longed for – one of passion, courage and purpose. You'll not only discover what brings you joy, but also how you can SCATTER JOY wherever you go!
I received her Journeys line of fabric in teal. Of course I had to pick a color in the blue family as blue is my favorite color. I am currently working on a quilt with this beautiful fabric! I am not sure yet if I will make this the new baby's quilt or not. As I just love it! I might just keep it for myself. I will definetly post pictures when I finish it.

ReplyDeleteHi! Just wondering if I can enter even if I live in Canada - I'd have it shipped to a US address I use (I live near the border).
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful fabric line. I would love anything in the Journey purple colorway. I would use it to make scrub tops for myself for work. How beautful they would be. mbeachamy@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI like the pink and the green fabrics w/the flowers. I think they'd make a cute purse :)

I really like the purple dragonfly fabric and would make either a purse and wallet or maybe if my DD's love it as much as I do, I'd give in and use it in a Feliz.

KD05Purple and KD03Purple Together would make a great summer dress for my daughter. The fabric is girly yet not childish, as she is growing into a new stage. Luckily, she is thin- so there would be enough left for me to make a beautiful bag to show off around town! The book looks really great! What a concept!
ReplyDeleteI like the blue and green square fabric. I would make my son/son's a blankie with their old baby clothes that are too stained to give away, using the good pieces to quilt. spottedjagiwar at yahoo

ReplyDeleteI liked her on Facebook, and I love the dragonflies either in the teals or purples. My granddaughter whose nick name is "bug" and loves all bugs would be so happy to have a dress made from this.
