World's Best Origami Book Review and Giveaway!

For kids

I recently received the World's Best Origami book for review. Origami is a ancient Japanese art form. With that being said I have always wanted to learn how to do Origami. My grandmother on my mom's side of the family was full blooded Japanese and she would always be making something with her candy wrappers. She mostly made beautiful swans. The swan is one of the easiest to learn to make. My swans aren't as pretty as hers where as I am still working on it. But it sure does make me miss her.

Do you remember folding paper into a hand-held fortune teller, paper airplane or secret note square? Whether a fortune teller novice or a seasoned paper-folding expert, the new book World's Best Origami  challenges readers with more than 100 of the most unique and best-loved origami patterns ever created.

Professional origami artist, Nick Robinson, guides readers through the process of folding paper. Projects are rated from beginner to advanced and include everything from the traditional swan and poppy box to truly amazing pieces such as a geodetic tower and a jet plane! Each diagram is clearly displayed with easy-to-understand folding instructions for a perfect outcome every time.

When beginning a new hobby, it's easy to rush into the most challenging or exciting project available. I know I catch myself doing that all the time. This many times leads to frustration and giving up and in the case of origami it leads to lots of wasted paper. The World's Best Origami provides the first-time folder with the basics and progresses towards more difficult models. It also includes a thorough refresher course for more experienced folders. This book teaches readers how to:
  • Create the ideal environment to fold in
  • Choose the ideal paper for each project
  • Read an origami folding diagram
  • Make the basic folds more complicated works are founded upon
  • Create birds, animals, flowers, people, containers, and more from step-by-step.
It also includes information on what to do after the basics have been mastered. How to establish a style, get creative, join and origami club, and inspire others are also covered with in the chapters.

One of my lucky readers will win their own copy of World's Best Origami!

Auto Select Insurance

Are you in the market for new car insurance? Or looking for better rates? Auto Insurance Select offers cheap auto insurance with lowest rates where you can save up to $652 a year! The best part is they offer you 6 free local rate quotes so you can pick the best plan that is right for you.

If you are in the market to lower you insurance here are a few tips to consider.
1. Get as many insurance quotes as possible. It pays to shop around that's for sure!

2. Ask for higher deductibles. The higher your deductible is for things like collision coverage, the less you will pay for your auto insurance premium. Raising your deductible can save you 15% to more than 40%. Make sure you have the cash to pay that deductible if the need arises.

3. Bundle up your plans. Find out if the insurance company who provides your homeowners or renters insurance also offers car insurance. Many times, bundling up on insurance policies can save you a lot of money. Ask your current insurer for car insurances quotes to see if any sort of discount applies.

4. Lower Coverage on Older Cars. If your car is getting up there in years, it's not financially reasonable to keep paying for full coverage on it. Ask for car insurance quotes for a pared down policy that will still keep your car legal - but that won't cause you to pay for unreasonable levels of coverage.

5. Your credit score can effect your car insurance quotes. Many auto insurance providers take a driver's credit rating into consideration when coming up with car insurance premiums. If your credit is so-so - or poor - work on improving it. Once it's improved, ask for a new quote and see how much you can save.

6. Pay Your Premium In Full. Sometimes, car insurance companies charge additional fees for customers who pay their premiums on installment plans. If possible, try to pay your insurance premium in full to avoid those fees. Be sure to ask about the cost of those fees when getting car insurance quotes.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just wanted to say HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all of you! Hope you have a wonderful day. I am finishing up making my Thanksgiving dishes as we are going to our pastor's house again this year to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Along the way of getting my pie and cake ready yesterday I had a little scare. I all of sudden got seriously dizzy and light head along with the room spinning like crazy. Not so fun. So, I called a friend of mine and she took me to the doctor while another friend of mine watched my kids. Praise God for awesome friends that are always a help in a time of need.

As I have posted before I have been battling ear infections this year for some reason like crazy. So, I got another really bad ear infection. I had a feeling I did as last week my ears where bothering me and I forgot to get hubby to look at them for me. It seems everytime I get sinus drainage I get a ear infection. This is like my 5th one in the last 4 months. But unfortunately it's causing me to have inner ear probs. Which isn't no fun at all.

But I am praying that this medicine will get rid of it and maybe not have any more ear infections. I think if I get another we are definetly going to go to the ENT. Something has got to stop.

Oneida Review!

For Everyone

You have probably heard of Oneida. But did you know that they are more than just flatware? I didn't till recently. Oneida has something for everyone on your holiday shopping list, including Multicookers, Cupcake Carriers and more!
I recently received the Chef's Palette Soft Square Coupe 16 Piece Service for 4. I love it! I have always wanted a set of square dishes and now I have them. I know can have fun pretending I am one of those chef's on the food network with my nice pretty plates. Not only that to me square is different and more elegant then round. I guess after seeing round all the time I am ready for a change.

They also have a great holiday collection as well. I love snowmen so I really liking their snowmates.
Aren't they just cute? These would go great in my house as I collect and decorate in snowmen for the holidays! So, if you are looking for a gift this holiday season or any occassion Oneida is a great place to check out!

Tropical Traditions Organic Raw Honey Review and Giveaway!

Tropical Traditions Organic Raw Honey comes from the frontier areas of Canada, and is only harvested during a 6-week period in the summer. Tropical Traditions is the exclusive source of this premium organic honey in the U.S. Most commercial honeys available on the market today come from bee farms, where the bees are controlled within a certain area and get their pollen from usually only one kind of flower. Many of the plants that produce these flowers (clover, orange blossom, etc.) are grown with pesticides and fertilizers as well. In addition, almost all honeys on the market are pasteurized in high heat and filtered, removing many of the beneficial nutrients and enzymes.

Tropical Traditions Organic Raw Honey has not been subjected to the heat of processing, only warmed enough to flow (same temperatures the honey would see inside the hive). We select only premium honey that is pure, smooth and creamy, with the consistency of soft margarine at harvest. It contains live yeast and enzymes, because it has not been processed. It also contains pollen because it has not been filtered—merely screened.

Fine textured crystals are characteristic of totally pure, unheated, unprocessed, raw honey. Properly crystallized honey has a fine, smooth texture. Crystallized honey preserves natural goodness and doesn’t drip. The more rapidly honey crystallizes the finer the texture will be. It will also turn harder over time as it crystallizes. Truly raw honeys do not deteriorate with age, but like fine wines, continue to age and develop into more complex tastes.

This honey is delicious! I use this honey sparingly as I received a 17.6 oz jar. I have mostly used it for my herbal remedies and love the taste. I for sure will be buying more in the future. This works great heated up just a little bit to liquid consistance with fresh lemon juice for a sore throat.

How is it consider organic you ask? In order for it to be organic beehives must be placed in isolated areas miles from the dense population, industry, traffic congestion, and farm fields treated with chemicals and landfills. Second, a bee’s flying range is determined by their natural instinct which tells them to stay within their natural four mile range from the hive location. Finding area which can be certified organic is extremely difficult, which is why there are so few certified organic honeys on the market. Tropical Traditions sources its honey from hives in the wild frontier areas of Canada.

Tropical Traditions is offering one of my lucky readers their very own 17.6 jar of Organic Raw Honey.

Mandatory Entry: Go to Tropical Traditions and tell me another product you would like to try. This must be completed before you can qualify for additional entries. Airwear Review

I recently got to try some Airwear lens. Airwear is eco-friendly lens that are manufactured using 100% recycled water and packaged in 100% recycled cardboard made from 100% wooden fibers with no plastic cup.

Not only is Airwear lens eco-friendly but they are also 43% lighter and 25% thinner than regular lens. That is a big plus in my book! I have a pretty strong prescription so my glasses are a little heavier. But when I recieved my Airwear lens I could tell a big difference in the weight of my glasses and that they where thinner then my other lens.

They also protect your eyes from harmful UVA and UVB rays. Airwear lenses are perfect for almost everyone, and most appropriate for those who:

•Are involved in recreational activities
•Perform work or daily activities that place them at risk for impacts against their lenses
•Are under 18
•Want thinner, more fashionable lenses
•Have a desire to wear an eco-friendly lens

Also, Airwear has Essilor Junior that are just for children under 18.

Right now Airwear has a contest going on that ends November 30th at 11:59 PM EST to win $1,000 or free lenses! You sure don't want to miss this! So go here to check it out now!

Kissaluvs Marvels AIO Review and Giveaway!

I recently got to try a Kissaluvs Marvels AIO. I have to say I love this diaper! Why you ask? Well I will tell you. First this diaper is a one size pocket diaper that fits 7-35 lbs. Secondly no stuffing this diaper with inserts! Third no touching that dirty insert!
What's not to like about that? This diaper has the insert sewn in the back that when washed the soaker will agitate out. How cool is that? I haven't seen a diaper like this one that's for sure! This diaper does have a pocket opening which is how the soaker is able to agitate out and it allows you to add extra absorbency if you need it. I didn't need any added absorbency for my little one.

This diaper is so simple and easy to use that dad's and babysitters love this diaper. I don't know about you all but my husband doesn't mind me cloth diapering but he is skiddish of changing cloth diapers because they are all different. But this simple design he loves!

I will say Kissaluvs really outdid themselves with this diaper. This is by far one of my favorite diapers to use. I have not had any leaks with this diaper. I really think it's neat when I toss the diaper in to wash and it comes out inside out and clean!

Kissaluvs is offering one of my lucky readers their very own Kissaluvs Marvels AIO cloth diaper.

Busy Weekend!

I don't know about you but this weekend is going to be one busy weekend. We are headed off to a fun fall gathering tomorrow with our church. In which they are having tons of contest. I am entering their baking contest with a few things and the sewing contest. I hope I win but if not it's all fun. We will be heading out in the morning and won't be home till late. It will make for a long day that's for sure! But it will be a blast.

So, as I type I am baking away! On another note my 2nd youngest is growing up! It's hard to believe she will be 3 Sunday! Where has the time gone? On top of that my baby will be 18 months Monday.

We are doing a little birthday party after church Sunday for her. I of course am baking the cake which I have to do tonight as we will be home late tomorrow. So, tons of baking to do.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I should be back Monday with more giveaways and reviews.

Ayala's Herbal Water Review and Giveaway!

Thanks to Ayala's Herbal Water, we recently got to sample several flavors of infused waters.
Let me say these waters are not like any water you have ever tasted! They are zero calories, zero artificial sweeteners, flavors, and colors, and zero chemical preservatives. They of course are a 100% all natural.

They come ins 6 different flavors for all your moods.
1. Ginger Lemon Peel- This is a light, neutral flavor with a crip, clean taste. A mild and refreshing balance of lemon and ginger .2. Lavender Mint Lemongrass Thyme- A cooling, refreshing flavor featuring four distinct herbs that blend harmoniously on your palate.
3. Lemonograss Mint Vanilla- This flavor has a mellow, lightly minty taste followed by a smooth, rich undertone of vanilla.
4. Lemon Verbena Geranium- The much more sophisticated, crisp depth of Lemon Verbena is softened by a delicate floral scent of Rose Geranium. A refreshing palate cleanser!
5. Clove Cardamom Cinnamon- An earthy, slightly spice taste with bright tones evocative of sweetness; reminiscent of Chai tea or a savory autumn dessert.
6. Cinnamon Orange Peel- A sunny flavor combining citrus orange with a mildly sweet hint of cinnamon.
I have to say my favorite is the Clove Cardamom Cinnamon. I really liked the Lemon Verbena Geranium. It is a great palate cleanser. It really helps you taste your food. I haven't played around with what food would taste good with what water but I am sure with the right combo you could have a awesome dinner. These waters do take some getting use to. They do smell very good. The only one I wasn't fond of was the Cinnamon Orange Peel. But everyone palate is different.

Ayala's Herbal Water is offering one of my lucky readers a sample pack of all 6 waters. This is Open to the 48 contiguous US states.

10 Holiday Shopping Tips!

TwitterMoms and Tiny Prints have joined together with a fun blogging promotion to share tips about how to survive the holidays! Tiny Prints has photo cards that make designing a Holiday card easy and quick! I love the Holiday season but I certainly do agree that it's very easy to get overwhelmed and stressed out if you fall behind in your planning, or take on too much! I always stress myself out.

1. Make a shopping list. This is always great to work on throughout the year getting ideas on what you want to get the ones on your list. Not only that if you have kids then you know grandparents are always wanting to know what to get them. This list comes in handy for that!

2. Set a limit. I know how expensive the holidays get! We have 6 kids so it's always nice to set a limit for the ones on your list. That way you don't overspend.

3. Shop Early! I can't stress this one enough. If you shop throughout the year you can definitely avoid stress of holiday shopping. Plus many places are starting sales early. I personally avoid Black Friday as it's too stressful for me. Also, if it's where you can shopping after Christmas for the following year can save you money!

4. Wrap as you buy! This is a very good time saver. If you wrap as you buy your holiday gifts you won't be burden down with having to wrap tons of gifts at the last minute. I can't tell you enough how stressful gift wrapping is at the last minute.

5. If you are hosting this holiday season plan out your menu early! Don't wait till the last minute to decide what you want.

6. Get help if you are planning on having guest over for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner have your guest help with the food. This is why having a menu ready early comes in. Plus if you have them help with the food helps save you time in the kitchen and you won't be so exhausted.

7. Make your holiday grocery list early! This is a must! I always write out what I want to cook and the ingridents I need on a list all to itself for the holidays.

8. Grocery shop early! Don't wait till the last minute to shop for your holiday dinner grocery list. If you do you might find out that they don't have what you need. It is always hard to find turkey's, crandberry sauce, and peacans at the last minute!

9. Take family pictures early! I don't know about you but I love sending family pictures out with my Christmas cards. Or use your family pictures to make photo Christmas cards. That's what I am doing again this year!

10. Get your Christmas Cards organized and ready early! You can address the envelopes and put stamps on them. You can hold off mailing them out till you are ready but if you get this done all you have to do is stuff your cards in the envelope. I know some places if you order online will stamp, address, and send them for you for a price.
