10 Great Uses for Vaseline!

As most families we have always kept a jar of Vaseline in our house. I bet their is one somewhere in yours. I know growing up I never really understood what all the hype was about Vaseline till I became a mother. This year is Vaseline's 140th Anniversary! In like of that I would like to share my 10 uses for Vaseline in my house.

!. Use on a rectal thermometer. Great lubricate to help ease that thermometer in pain free.
2. Remove tight rings. Apply a little around the edges of the ring and it will come off pain free.
3. Great relief for a chap face. Your face ever get wind chapped in the winter? My kids do and this works great at helping ease the pain and heal the skin.
4. Removing gum from hair. I am sure every parent has faced this problem at some time or other. Rub a good amount of Vaseline through the hair near the gum. The Vaseline will remove all the gum.
5. Great as chap stick. You ever get chapped lips during the winter? Just apply a little Vaseline and bye bye chap lips.
6. Keep baby bottom soft and rash free. Apply a little to baby's bottom and it will keep diaper rash away and keep it soft as well.
7. Stop squeaky door hinges. This works great especially if you have no WD-40 available. My husband applied some to my car door hinges and bye bye squeak. This also works great on any door hinge.
8. Soften up dry heels. Just apply Vaseline to the bottom of your dry cracked heels. Then put on a pair of socks and go to bed.
9. Apply to nails as a cuticle softener. Just rub a little bit on each nail and it softens those cuticles right up.
10. Mix with sea salts to make a hand or body scrub.

My husband who is a mechanic uses it to help lube bearings.

So, what are some ways you use Vaseline?

Bum Essentials Review and Giveaway!

I have recently got the pleasure of reviewing Bum Essentials Bumbino. It's a one size diaper that fits from 8-34 lbs. This diaper has snaps in the front to adjust the rise size to fit your little one. It has aplix closures to ensure that great fit.
The Bum Essentials Bumbino is designed to be used with a "set" of interchangeable, snap-in "terry towel" Bum Essentials Bum Pads. While the Bumbino has the ease of an all in one diaper (AIO), and the flexible absorption capability of a pocket diaper, it is neither. The Bum Essentials Bumbino is a two-piece, reusable cloth diaper system.

These diapers come with two different sized "terry towel" pads snaped together. That way you can determine the size and amount of absorbancy you need. The inside of the waterproof, Bumbino shell is lined with a soft microfleece; the inside stays dry so the shell can be re-used.
Because the soaker snaps in and isn't sewn in it has faster wash and dry time. Which is always a plus! I love how soft the inside and soaker pads are that touch my little one. The only thing I do wish they had was the option for snap closures instead of just aplix. As it's easier for a little one to undo their diaper with aplix then snaps. But other than that this diaper works great!

Bum Essentials is offering one of my lucky readers a Bumbino of their very own. (no choice of color)

ReThink Crafts Diaper Cover Review

I am always on the look out for cute cloth diapering covers. It's one way to make your babies cloth diapering bum look cute! Who can resist!

I recently found ReThink Crafts. She started making these covers out of necessity when she realized that the more diaper covers she had, the less laundry she would have to do each week.

Diapers Covers are a very affordable way to cloth diaper. You can re-use covers multiple times before washing them... and can use simple pre-folds in them instead of expensive fitteds. The cost of pre-folds can be as little as $1.00 a piece on some websites.

I really love all the different fabrics she uses. The great thing is she does customs! So you don't see something just contact her. I do have to say if you have a chunky baby I would size up. These diaper covers are very trim so they won't fit over every fitted cloth diaper.

I received this cute farm animals print in a size medium for review. I really love the trimness of it. This diaper cover is perfect for prefolds that is for sure. These diaper covers go for $13. I don't know about you but I love supporting WAHMs and handmade items.

So, if you are looking for some cute diaper covers check out ReThink Crafts.

Rubbermaid Reveal Mop Review and Giveaway!

Are you tired of wasting money throwing away mop heads or cloths to clean your floor? I know I am! So I am happy to introduce Rubbermaid Reveal Mop!

What's the Rubbermaid Reveal Mop? It's of course Rubbermaid's newest product out. I have to say I love it! If you want to save more and waste less this is for sure the product for you. While a lot of spray mops have cloths to throw away this mop doesn't. It has microfiber pads that you reuse so you no longer have to buy disposable pads! Not only that Reveal picks up 50% more dirt and dust per swipe than traditional mops. The Refillable Spray bottle allows you to stop buying expensive solutions and create your own using your favorite household cleaner or use plain hot water. It is also safe to use on all hard floors including vinyl, hardwood, laminate and tile. The non-battery operated spray trigger allows you to dispense as much or as little solution needed to clean your floor.

I received a Rubbermaid Reveal Mop with the mop, bottle, and 3 microfiber pads. This mop if bought online only comes with on mircofiber pad. My kids where excited when we received this product for sure! They all wanted to try it out but I being the mom decided to use it first. I have to say I love it. I can now get those hard to reach corners where your cabinets reach the wall with ease. I am still playing around with the solution I like best.

Potty Training!

I mentioned awhile back that I was going to start working on potty training my youngest who is now 17 months. Well, we started off hit and miss. I would take her every 30 mins. She would go and wake up dry from naps. Which is great!

Well now she tells me when she has to go! She is not a talker like my others but she does sign. So, now she signs when she has to go potty. She don't always tell me all the time but we are down to maybe one wet diaper a day. How great is that? She hasn't got the pooping down in the potty but just while ago she signed she had to potty. Guess what! She pooped! Yay for success!

I was feeling bad before because I had really slacked with potty training her because my 2 1/2 yr old was fully potty trained by 18 months with no accidents. So, I beat myself up over that. But now I am on the ball and Praise God she is doing great!

Of course potty training you always have good and bad days. That's to be excpected. So, to all you other moms out their potty training just stick with it. Consistence is the key!
